From our collection of stories with rhyming words for preschoolers!
In a mountain cabin, cozy and small,
Two sisters awake to the bluebird’s call.
Elizabeth and Mary Ann jump out of bed,
Excited for the adventure that lies ahead.

The smell of breakfast fills the air,
As Mama cooks with loving care.
Pancakes sizzle on the iron pan,
“Hurry up and eat!” says Mary Ann.
“We’re going to search for flowers today,
Pink Lady Slippers, not far away!”
Elizabeth says with a joyful smile,
“Let’s wear our boots and walk a mile!”

Down the trail the sisters go,
Where ferns and wildflowers grow.
They skip and laugh along the way,
Enjoying the beautiful spring day.

“Look there!” Mary Ann suddenly cries,
Her voice filled with happy surprise.
Among the green, a flash of pink,
The Lady Slippers, prettier than you’d think!

They sit and watch as gentle breeze,
Makes the flowers dance with ease.
Butterflies flutter all around,
As the girls sit on the soft ground.

The sun begins to sink down low,
“It’s time for home,” they both know.
With tired feet but happy hearts,
Back to the cabin their journey starts.
At home, Mama greets them with a hug,
And Papa offers each a mug
Of warm milk and honey sweet,
As they rest their weary feet.

The girls tell tales of their day that night,
As the cabin fills with warm firelight.
Soon it’s time for bed, they know,
To dream of where tomorrow they’ll go.

In the Smoky Mountains, wild and free,
Elizabeth and Mary Ann, happy as can be.
Another adventure waits in store,
For the Ogle sisters to explore!
