A story and rhyme just for bedtime.
Little Flicker, tiny light, Couldn't shine, not quite right. "Why won't my glow come through?" He wondered what to do. Off he flew on quest so brave, Through the forest, over wave. Seeking help from creatures wise, To find his light and make it rise. First, he met a gentle deer, Who said, "Young one, have no fear. Your light is there, just believe, Trust yourself, you'll achieve."
Next, a wise owl in a tree, Hooted softly, "Listen to me: "Look within, not all around, That's where your spark is found." A rabbit quick, with twitching nose, Told Flicker, "Goodness knows, Your light's unique, one of a kind, Let it free, don't leave it behind." Flicker thought of what they'd said, Their words dancing in his head. He closed his eyes, took a breath, And felt a warmth beneath.
Suddenly, a gentle glow Began to shine and grow. Flicker beamed with joy so pure, His light was there, for sure! Now he flies on evenings cool, Lighting up the forest pool. Reminding friends both far and near, "Your inner light is always here."
So children, when you feel alone, Remember Flicker's journey shown. Your special light is there inside, Let it shine with joy and pride.
