One of our silly bedtime stories in verse for preschoolers
Here is the story of Penny, told in prose and verse.
Penny lived in a big city. She was goofy and made the world laugh. Penny was a “Penguin Person.” Why? Well, Penny had a waddle in her step, and an adorable roundness, so very penguin cute!
One day, Penny saw a penguin poster. “What if we had a waddle race?” she thought, giggling. “Waddle races” became Penny’s thing. She showed everyone how to waddle like a penguin. Waddle, waddle, waddle! Soon, the playground was filled with happy sounds. Everyone was laughing and having fun!
Penny’s friends were delighted by her quirky ways, and even the principal, with a frowny face, cracked a tiny smile. Penny’s penguin power turned frowns upside-down.
Each night, Penny smiled as she went to sleep, “Silliness is my superpower!” And so, Penny the “Penguin Person” brightens each day with her playfulness and waddle-ful ways.

In city lights, Penny did reside,
Goofy and giggly, a laughter tide.
A penguin person, round and stout,
With waddle walk, and a happy shout.

A penguin poster, caught her eye,
"A waddle race," she thought, "Oh my!"
She taught her friends the penguin sway,
Waddle and waddle, every day.

Her friends were tickled by her style,
Even the principal cracked a smile.
Frowns became smiles, hearts filled with glee,
Penny's penguin power, wild and free.

The schoolyard echoed with joyful sound,
As waddling children danced all around.
Teachers chuckled, their spirits lifted high,
By Penny's penguin dance passing by.

With a waddle and a giggle, Penny leads the way,
Teaching us to laugh and embrace each day.
"Silliness," she says, "is the key to joy,"
A penguin's waddle, a gift to every girl and boy.
Each night, as Penny went to sleep,
She smiled, her joy so pure and deep.
Penny's spirit, a shining light,
Making every day feel just right!
