A five minute story for preschoolers.

Milly was bouncing with excitement! Her mom and dad had gone on a big trip, and for the very first time, she was the boss of the whole house—well, almost the whole house. Aunt Hetty was visiting, and she still had to make sure Grandma was okay, but being in charge was awesome!

First things first, Milly wanted to throw the most AMAZING tea party EVER! She put on her favorite dress and jumped into her cute pony cart, riding all around town to invite her best friends for a tea party the next day.

But, uh-oh! When Milly got home, she found Grandma with a big headache, needing lots and lots of peace and quiet. And grumpy old Aunt Hetty didn’t listen to a single word Milly said.

Milly felt like crying, but then she took a deep breath. She remembered Grandma always made her special tea when she didn’t feel good. Super carefully, with Aunt Hetty’s help, Milly learned how to make tea and perfect golden toast. Grandma loved it, and soon, she was feeling a tiny bit better.

Now, Milly needed Aunt Hetty’s help for the party. So, she said with a smile, “Aunt Hetty, let’s make the party special together!” That made Aunt Hetty happy, and soon the kitchen smelled like the tastiest treats you could imagine!

The next day, Milly’s friends came to her tea party, and even though things didn’t go perfectly, everyone had so much fun. Milly learned that being in charge isn’t always easy, but if she tried her best and was kind to others, she could handle anything!
