Join Peregrine, a colorful little parrot who loves telling stories to children about courage and kindness. When he discovers a field with the tastiest rice in the world, his desire to share with his family leads to an unexpected adventure. After being trapped while protecting his loved ones, Peregrine teaches both humans and birds valuable lessons about sacrifice, sharing resources, and the true meaning of family.

Hi there, little one! I’m Peregrine, a little parrot and I love telling stories!

One sunny day, I discovered a rice field that seemed to have the tastiest rice in the whole wide world! Excited to share this, I brought my mommy, daddy, and baby brothers and sisters to eat there.

Suddenly, trouble! A big person tried to stop us from eating the yummy rice. I had an idea! With courage, I swooped down to distract the big person, allowing my family to enjoy the rice in peace.

But oops! I got caught in a trap. My little heart was beating so fast, and I felt scared all alone in that strange cage. The bars were cold against my colorful feathers.

I wanted to call out to my family, but I stayed very quiet so they wouldn’t be scared or get caught too. Even though I was afraid, I felt brave knowing my family was safe and had enough to eat. After eating, my family flew away. They didn’t know I was stuck!

The big person then asked me, “Little bird, why are you taking rice?โ€ I explained that I was helping my family and other hungry birds who needed the rice to survive.

The big person smiled and said, “Eat as much as you need, kind parrot, and your friends, too. You’ve shown what it means to be good.” Then, the big person gently opened the cage and set me free!

I flew as fast as my little wings could carry me, searching for my family. When I spotted their bright feathers among the trees, I chirped with joy! My family rushed toward me, wrapping their wings around me in the warmest hug. They had been so worried! My mommy and daddy nuzzled my feathers, and my brothers and sisters chirped excitedly, asking where I had been.

I continued to care for my feathered family. We share what we have so that we all live our best lives.
