Under five minute lighthouse story in verse for preschoolers.
By the sea, a lighthouse tall,
Old and strong, it stood for all.
Waves would crash, the wind would blow,
But the lighthouse light would always glow.
Mr. Jonah, kind and wise,
Watched the light with weathered eyes.
Polished the lens, trimmed the flame,
Guiding ships, that was his aim.
Emily, by the rocky shore,
Loved the lighthouse more and more.
"Why do you shine, Mr. Jonah so kind?
Do the ships ever know, the ones you help find?"
Mr. Jonah replied, "Ships at sea,
Can't always find their way, you see.
The light's my promise, strong and true,
To guide them safe, till skies turn blue.”
One storm-tossed night, the beacon dimmed,
flickered low against the wind.
Mr. Jonah sick, Emily knew what to do,
Keeping the light, the whole night through.
Ships sailed past, in the stormy night,
Guided safely by Emily's light.
Past the storm they were able to sail,
Lost ships found home by the beacon's trail!
Like the lighthouse, we all shine,
Helping others, with hearts so kind.
A smile, a hand, a loving way,
We make the world brighter every day.
