Five minute story for preschoolers.

Max was a city boy who loved playing games on his tablet. But one summer, his parents said he would stay with Grandpa Bob on Firefly Farm. Max wasn’t sure about this—no city lights, no tablet games, just cows and chickens?

When Max arrived, the farm smelled like fresh hay and cookies from the kitchen. A rooster crowed so loud it made him jump! “Cock-a-doodle-doo!”

Grandpa Bob gave Max a big hug. “I have a fun job for you, Max! You’ll be looking after our fluffy sheep,” Grandpa Bob said, smiling wide.

Max was nervous. “Sheep? I don’t know how,” he said.

“Don’t worry, I’ll show you. It’ll be fun,” Grandpa Bob promised.

At first, Max missed his tablet games. But then, something unusual happened. Grandpa Bob and Max found a little lost lamb stuck in the bushes. Carefully, they freed the lamb, who looked at Max like he was a hero.

Max and the Lost Lamb

Max felt something new—a warm, happy feeling, different from his games. He enjoyed helping the sheep, learning their funny walks, and especially naming them.

The more time Max spent with the sheep, the more he loved being their friend. He woke up early, excited to see them, and learned all about caring for them with Grandpa Bob’s help.

By the end of summer, Max felt proud. He had taken care of the sheep all by himself. He learned that looking after animals was a big, important job.

Grandpa Bob was very proud, too. “You did great, Max. You learned to care for others,” he said with a big smile.

As Max waved goodbye to the farm, he knew he would miss the sheep and lambs. But he also knew he had learned something—how to care and be responsible, just like a true friend.

Going back to the city, Max felt happy. He had experienced an adventure that he would never forget.
