A story of train travel, India, and determination.
Under five minute story for preschoolers.
Jane Ann wanted to go to India to see her Grandparents. She wished her bunny could go with her, but he was scared of the big tigers. He said he would wait for her at home.
Jane Ann hoped the rain would stop soon. She and her toys, bunny, horse, and teddy bear, looked out the window. Jane Ann tried to make the rain go away by closing her eyes and holding her breath. But it didn’t work.
Jane Ann was worried. How could she go to India if it kept raining? She felt a little lonely. It was so far to India that she didn’t know how to get there by herself.
She heard a knock on the door. Aunt Mary gave a big box with a bow to Jane Ann. She said, “Jane Ann, you are very lucky today!”
“What is it?” Jane Ann asked. She opened the box and saw… a suitcase! A pretty blue suitcase with her name on it. Just what she needed for a big trip.
“But Auntie,” Jane Ann said, “It’s not my birthday. My birthday is a few days away.” “Ah,” her Aunt Mary said. “A good traveler needs to be ready.

In the suitcase, there are some things for your trip to India, and a train ticket. Your grandma and grandpa can’t come here, but you can go to them! You can say goodbye to your friends before you go.”
Then, her bunny, horse, and teddy bear gathered around. They said they would miss her, but they were happy for her.
Aunt Mary put some sandwiches and cakes in her snack box, and Jane Ann knew she had lots of chocolates to share on the train.
The sun came out. Jane Ann hugged her Aunt Mary and waved to her toys, who were waving to her from the window. She got in the taxi to the train station. At last, the train came, and Jane Ann got on. As the train moved, she felt very excited. India, here I come!
