Under five minute lighthouse story for preschoolers.
Once upon a time, there was a tall, tall lighthouse by the big, blue sea. The big round light at the very top helped the boats find their way in the dark.
Inside the lighthouse lived a kind man called Mr. Eli. He was the lighthouse keeper! Every day, he polished the big light, and every night, he made sure it shone bright, bright, bright! The light helped ships out on the dark sea find their way home.
In the village nearby lived a little girl named Amelia. She loved playing on the beach and looking for seashells but was always curious about the lighthouse and the kind man inside.
One day, she saw him outside the tower. She said hello and asked, “Why do you keep the light shining?” Mr. Eli smiled, “To help ships find their way, Amelia. The light is like a friend in the dark!” Amelia thought about this. It made her feel good to know the light helped people.

One night, there was a terrible storm! Giant waves crashed, and rain poured down! Amelia went to her window and peeked out. The lighthouse light was… flickering and dimming!
“Oh no!” cried Amelia. “Ships might get lost!”
She put on her boots and raincoat and ran all the way to the lighthouse. She found Mr. Eli sick in bed. Mr. Eli couldn’t take care of the light.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Eli,” said Amelia bravely. “I’ll help!”
Amelia climbed up the steps inside the lighthouse to the top. There, she fixed the light to make it strong and steady. It shone far out over the rough sea. She stayed all night, keeping the light on.
When the storm calmed down, Mr. Eli felt much better. He thanked her for being so brave. “You helped the ships too, Amelia,” said Mr. Eli. “You were like a little lighthouse keeper!”
Amelia was so happy! She learned that we can all be like lighthouses. We can shine our light and help others. We can make the world brighter, and that feels really good.
