Under 5 minute farm stories for preschoolers.
Lily often visited her Grandma Ruth on Firefly Farm. It was her favorite place, full of green fields and happy animals. Lily and Grandma Ruth loved to cook together! They used yummy things from the garden, like carrots and tomatoes and green beans.
One day, big, dark rain clouds came. The rain fell and fell for a long, long time. Even the fireflies refused to flicker! Uh-oh! The garden was too wet, and Lily saw Grandma Ruth looking worried.

“Don’t worry, Grandma!” said Lily. “Let’s make Sunshine Cookies to chase the rain away!”
Grandma Ruth smiled. “What a good idea!” They looked for ingredients that made them think of sunshine.
“Lemons!” said Lily. “They’re yellow like the sun!”
“Honey!” said Grandma Ruth. “It’s golden and sweet, just like sunshine.”
They mixed and stirred. They laughed and talked. The kitchen felt like a warm summer day. Grandma Ruth told Lily stories about their family and other special recipes they’d made together.

Soon, the cookies went in the oven, and the whole house smelled sweet and buttery! Grandma Ruth and Lily shared the warm, super-duper cookies. They felt happy and cozy.
When the rain stopped, they went outside. The garden wasn’t so wet anymore. And look! The fireflies were starting to twinkle in the grass.

Lily and Grandma Ruth hugged. They loved to cook together, make each other smile, and share happy times, especially on rainy days.
