A family story of Grandson and Grandfather
Under five minute story for preschoolers.
Ethan had never been to a farm before. He lived in the city where the tall buildings hid the stars. But here on Firefly Farm, the night sky was a dark blanket sprinkled with sparkling stars.
His Grandfather Bob, who loved all things about the outdoors, was excited to share his nighttime world with Ethan. Ethan missed his video games, but Grandpa Bob had something even better.
“Ethan, want to see some star pictures?” Grandpa Bob asked. He pointed up at the sky.
Ethan was excited. These weren’t pictures in a book – they were made of real stars! Grandpa told him about a strong hunter named Orion, a beautiful queen in her starry chair, and a big dipper that scooped up wishes.

Every night, Ethan learned more about the constellations in the sky. There was a strong man named Hercules and Andromeda, the princess saved by a hero. The star people were like friends now! Their stories are about being brave, being good, and how the world keeps changing.
One night, Ethan heard an owl. “Hoo-hoo!” Grandpa grabbed his flashlight. “Let’s go find it!”
The owl was in the barn, and it was hurt! Ethan knew the star stories were about being brave and kind. So, he helped Grandpa take care of the owl. He warmed it up and gave it food.

Soon, the owl was strong again. They let it fly away into the night. It looked just like the stars! Ethan felt so happy! He knew stars weren’t just lights in the sky.
“Grandpa,” Ethan said, “the stars tell stories about everything!”
Grandpa Bob smiled. “You got it, Ethan. They remind us where we came from and what we can be.”

Sometimes, back in the city, Ethan would look up at the night. He might not see ALL the stars, but he could find his favorites. And he’d remember his stargazing summer at Firefly Farm, Grandpa’s stories, and the owl he helped fly free.
