Once, a cat named Diddle loved to play her tiny fiddle.
Diddle sat in the kitchen window one night and played a happy song. Wonderful things began to happen!
When Mrs. Cow heard the sweet music, she felt light as a feather. She began to dance and twirl. And then—whoosh!—she floated up, up, up and right over the moon!
“Moo-mazing!” she called down to everyone below.
In the kitchen, the very serious Mr. Dog had never seen a cow fly before! “Ha ha ha!” he giggled, rolling on the floor with delight.
On the kitchen counter, Miss Dish and Mr. Spoon were best friends. They looked at each other and smiled when they heard the magical music.
“Let’s dance!” said Mr. Spoon.
Hand in handle, they twirled right off the counter, out the door, and into the night!
Everyone had so much fun! Now, every night, Diddle plays her fiddle. And if you look closely, you might see a cow flying, a dog laughing, and a dish and spoon dancing by the light of the moon.
