When wise Malik befriends the mysterious sea-dwelling Gulnare, they discover a special baby boy who unites two worlds. Inspired by the legendary 1001 Nights tales, this heartwarming story celebrates friendship across differences as young Basim creates a place where land and sea communities can learn, play, and grow together.
Once upon a time, there was a kind old man named Malik who lived by the sea. Malik loved collecting pretty seashells.
One day, Malik met a special friend named Gulnare who came from the sea!
“Hello!” said Malik with a big smile.
“Hello!” said Gulnare, waving her hand.
Malik and Gulnare became best friends. They played in the sand and counted fish together.
“One fish, two fish, splash!” they said.
One morning, Malik and Gulnare found a baby boy on the beach. He had the biggest smile!
“Let’s name him Basim,” said Gulnare. “It means ‘smiling.'”
“And we can take care of him together,” said Malik.

Basim grew into a happy little boy who loved both the land and the sea.
Malik taught Basim about stars and sand.
Gulnare taught Basim how to talk to fish. “Hello, Mr. Fish!” Basim would say.
But Basim was sad because his friends from the land and his friends from the sea didn’t play together.
“I have an idea!” said Basim. “Let’s build a special place where everyone can be friends!”
So they all worked together and built a magical house right at the edge of the water.
Land children brought toys. Sea creatures brought singing shells.
Everyone shared stories and played games together.
“When we share and play together, life is so much fun!” said Basim with his big smile.
And they all lived happily ever after!
