A retelling of a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, The Leap-Frog, from the book Andersen’s Fairy Tales.
Once upon a time, there was a tiny Flea, a green Grasshopper, and a happy Leap-frog. They loved to play and have fun together.
One day, they had a jumping contest! Who could jump the highest?
The Flea jumped super high! So high no one could see him!
The Grasshopper jumped high, but not as high as he wanted. That’s okay, he tried his best!
The Leap-frog sat very still and then POP! Up he went and down he came right in front of the magical Fairy!

The fairy said, “Leap-frog, you win! You get a wish!”
The Leap-frog made a wish, and the Fairy used her magic wand to make it come true. Everyone clapped and cheered for the Leap-frog.
And guess what the Leap-frog wished for? He wished that he and his friends would always be happy together!
They hugged and jumped for joy. Because having good friends is the best prize of all!
