Under five minute story about unicorns for beginning readers.
Once upon a time, a curious little rabbit named Cooper lived in an enchanted forest. He had a cozy burrow at the foot of a hill, where he spent most of his days nibbling on fresh grass and playing with his forest friends.
One moonlit night, two magnificent unicorns, Luna and Stella, appeared near Cooper’s burrow. Cooper, being the friendly rabbit he was, hopped over to greet them. The unicorns and the rabbit started chatting and soon became good friends.
“Friend Cooper,” Luna said one day, “we have a beautiful glade deep in the heart of the forest. We’re going back there tomorrow. It will be a long but magical journey. Would you like to come with us?”
Cooper’s eyes widened with excitement, but then he remembered, “How could I? I can’t gallop as fast as you.”
Stella smiled and replied, “We can carry you! But you must promise to keep your mouth closed and not make a sound during the journey.”
Cooper nodded eagerly, “I promise! I’ll do exactly as you say. Please take me with you!”
The next day, the unicorns brought a shimmering golden ribbon. They carefully tied the ribbon around their bodies, creating a secure support between them. Luna and Stella instructed Cooper to hold onto the middle of the ribbon tightly with his mouth and not utter a word until they reached their destination. Cooper did as he was told, grasping the soft, golden ribbon firmly between his teeth.

With Cooper suspended safely between them, Luna and Stella took off, galloping through the forest. Their hooves barely touched the ground as they gracefully leaped over fallen logs and wove between the towering trees. The wind rustled through their manes, and Cooper could feel the exhilaration of the magical journey as he held on tightly to the ribbon.
As they passed a babbling brook, some forest creatures spotted the unusual sight and exclaimed, “Look! The unicorns are carrying a rabbit! Have you ever seen anything so peculiar?”
Cooper heard the creatures’ comments and felt the urge to respond. He wanted to say, “My friends are helping me on a magical adventure! There’s nothing peculiar about that!” But as soon as he opened his mouth to speak, he lost his grip on the ribbon and tumbled to the ground.
The unicorns circled back and stopped beside Cooper, who thankfully was unharmed. Luna gently said, “Cooper, remember what we told you about keeping your mouth closed? Sometimes, it’s best to ignore what others say and focus on your own journey.”
Cooper nodded, understanding the valuable lesson. The unicorns invited him to try again, and this time, Cooper held on tightly and stayed silent throughout the journey. They reached the enchanted glade, where Cooper marveled at the beauty of the shimmering flowers and the magical creatures that called it home.

From that day on, Cooper, the rabbit, learned that true friends support each other and that it’s important to keep your word and stay focused on your goals, no matter what others may say.
