Under five minute farmyard story for preschoolers.
On Firefly Farm, there lived a gentle family of sheep. Everyone loved them! The horses, the cows, and even the pigs were happy when the sheep were around. Sheep are such kind creatures, and their soft bleating makes everyone feel good inside.
Little Woolly the lamb was the newest of all the sheep and a bit wobbly on his legs! One day, Woolly noticed something special about himself – his tail was the longest, fluffiest tail ever!
“Look at my beautiful tail!” Woolly would tell the other lambs. They smiled but didn’t really care. He felt very proud of his long, swishy tail and sometimes teased the other lambs about theirs. Woolly liked to show off his tail.

Woolly’s mama was wise. “Little one,” she’d say, “your tail is lovely, but being kind is more important.” But the silly lamb kept wiggling his tail, until one day Mama Sheep said, “Little one, all lambs start with long tails, but they need to be shortened! Long tails get messy, and the farmer helps keep them neat and tidy so you can play in the fields.”
The lamb felt a little scared. Would it hurt? Would the other lambs laugh? But his mama was right. Soon, all the lambs had their tails cut short, ready to be brave in the big world. And you know what? The little lamb didn’t feel silly anymore – he felt strong, just like his mama!
Woolly never teased about tails again and soon discovered there are better things in life to feel proud of – like being kind, having soft wool, and being loved by all his farm friends.
