Under five minute bedtime poetry for preschoolers.
Tired feet skip through the door,
Backpack tossed upon the floor.
A day of learning, a day of play,
Homework can wait, hooray!
Yummy smells, they filled the air,
Lasagna waiting, my favorite fare!
'Round the table, stories spun,
My heart so warm, the day was fun.
Big splash! The bath is done.
Time to pick the perfect ones!
Pajamas piled up soft and high,
A million choices catch my eye.
Stripes? Check! Stars? Let’s see!
Dinosaurs with giant teeth – I shriek with glee!
Hmm... maybe the ones with ninja cats,
Or the faded pair with baseball bats.
One sock here, its partner where?
Underneath the rocking chair!
Buttoned up (well, mostly right),
A story now, by warm low light.
Brush my teeth, I'll be a champ,
My smile will shine just like a lamp!
Pajamas on and squeaky clean,
I'm ready now for bedtime scene.
Counting sheep with fuzzy fur,
Maybe dragons softly purr.
Gentle snores and peaceful sighs,
'Til morning brings a new sunrise.
