There once lived a man named Thomas and his enormous ox, Bruno. Bruno was the strongest ox ever. His muscles were big as …. what ….. think of something big! Thomas was proud of Bruno, but sometimes he bragged a bit too much.

One sunny day, Thomas made a bet with the villagers. “My Bruno can pull a cart filled with stones!” he said. The villagers were surprised, and they bet Bruno couldn’t do it. 

Bruno tried really hard, but the cart was too heavy, and he couldn’t move it. 

Thomas got mad and yelled at Bruno. Poor Bruno felt sad.

Thomas felt bad. He apologized to Bruno and promised to be nicer. He fed Bruno sweet hay and carrots and brushed his fur until it was shiny.

Thomas and Bruno went for a rematch! This time, Thomas spoke gently to Bruno. With a mighty heave, Bruno pulled the cart. Everyone cheered, and Thomas was the happiest of all!  

From then on, Bruno was the most pampered ox around. But most importantly, Thomas and Bruno weren’t just master and beast – they were friends.

This is more than just a story of an animal working hard; it shows that being kind and friendly is even stronger than big muscles.
