Under five minute bedtime story about honesty for preschoolers.
Once upon a time, a grandma named Eliza lived with her granddaughter, Rosie, in a little house in a busy town. Grandma Eliza had a special golden bowl, a gift from long ago. But the bowl was old, and they didn’t use it much.
One day, a grumpy merchant came to the town. He wanted to buy and sell things but wasn’t very nice. He saw the golden bowl and said, “This is not worth anything!” He wanted to trick Grandma Eliza.

Rosie felt sad. They needed food, and she thought maybe they could trade the bowl. Just then, another merchant came by. His cart overflowed with teapots piled high! This merchant was kind and smiled a lot. He saw the bowl, and his eyes got big. “This is pure gold!” he said. “It’s a treasure filled with love and happy memories.”

The kind merchant gave Grandma Eliza and Rosie everything he had in exchange for the bowl. They were so happy!

The golden bowl shows us that it’s important to be kind and that some of the best treasures aren’t about money but love and good memories.
