Poetry that tells a story for preschoolers.
Curled up on my window seat,
With blankets making warmth complete,
I press my nose against the glass,
To watch the winter wonders pass.

Soft snowflakes wearing laces white,
Practice twirling in the night,
Each one takes a different pose,
Before it settles on a nose.

The cardinals in scarlet capes,
Stand guard at all the garden gates,
Their feathers trimmed with silver bright,
Catching every drop of light.

Young icicles in crystal capes,
Practice making winter shapes,
While snowbird sculptors pause to see,
Their art gallery in each tree.

The field mice in their nightcaps sweet,
Host midnight feasts of wheat and treats,
On tiny tables set with care,
With frost crystals sparkling in the air.

Three bears in winter scarves of plaid,
Host a snow-cone picnic glad,
Serving treats on maple leaves,
To chickadees in feather sleeves.

December winds like silver flutes,
Play lullabies on bare tree roots,
While snowflakes wearing sequin lights,
Waltz through clear and starry nights.

Mountain peaks in winter white,
Put on their caps to say goodnight,
While valleys wrapped in misty shawls,
Echo evening's gentle calls.

My eyelids growing sleepy now,
As winter magic shows me how
The world transforms to silver-white,
As we dream through starlit night.
